Grant Funded Groups
Pride Initiative is a twice weekly support group for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and their families. It is free of charge, open to all, completely anonymous, and positively affirming. Group consists of uplifting and supportive discussions and activities that center around the lives and well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families.
Focus: Sexual/gender identity, coping skills, politics and the LGBTQAI+ community, family issues, LGBTQAI+ history, current events, overcoming struggles and obstacles, celebrating milestones
Target Population: LGBTQAI+ community
Format: Tuesday 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm (Virtual for adults), Thursday 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm (Hybrid virtual/Crown Point Office for teens)
Goals: Meet with peers for support and friendship.
Cost: Free
Thinking Smart is a structured, evidence-based group designed to help adolescents build practical life skills through a cognitive-behavioral approach. Participants learn how to improve decision-making, manage emotions, and reduce risky behaviors while strengthening accountability and problem-solving skills. Through interactive activities and guided discussions, youth gain tools to make healthier choices and navigate everyday challenges with confidence.
Focus: Cognitive-behavioral skills development, decision-making, emotional regulation, and reducing risky behaviors
Target Population: Adolescents (typically ages 12–17)
Format: Structured group sessions with interactive activities and skill-building exercises
Goals: Improve problem-solving, increase accountability, and support healthier choices

Cybercool Program
The Cybercool Program provides primary prevention efforts to combat relational aggression, cyberbullying, and behaviors that are intended to harm someone through damaging or manipulating their relationships with others through a curriculum that addresses communication of feelings, empathy, social media education, criminal cyber activity, and free speech.
The goal of the Cybercool Program is to provide child safety through comprehensive and coordinated educational services to meet the needs of the communities’ youth. The program has been shown to be impactful in promoting safety, raising awareness of cyberbullying, equipping students with skills and resources to identify cyberbullying and problematic online behaviors, all while building empathy and respect in the youth of the community.
The Cybercool Program is designed for students from fifth through eighth grade in schools within the Region 1 community of Northwest Indiana.
